On August 20, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) launched a large-scale operation "Justice for Soldiers". Together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they are investigating possible abuses in military units.

The aim of the operation is to expose servicemen who are only formally on duty, illegally receive payments, or actually work for the private interests of their commanders. In particular, this concerns cases where subordinates were involved in construction, household, and other private work instead of military service.
Investigative actions are being carried out in various regions of Ukraine — a total of 72 searches are planned within 21 criminal proceedings. Most of them concern illegal payments. After 58 searches, the State Bureau of Investigation plans to report 20 people to the police.
Five more searches are being conducted in cases of illegal use of military personnelʼs labor. Nine are in a case of corruption abuse, in which suspicions are being raised against two defendants.
In total, based on the results of the operation, law enforcement officers plan to declare 22 people under suspicion. They promise to make the detailed results of the operation public after the completion of the primary investigative actions.
- In early August, the State Bureau of Investigation conducted an operation called "Honest Draft”, during which it exposed schemes for evading mobilization, illegally removing conscripts from the register, and bribery in TRC. At that time, searches were conducted in over 100 territorial recruitment and social support centers, and in one of the metropolitan TRCs, a scheme for "cleaning" the "Oberih" registry was exposed.
