On the night of August 20, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Eight people were reported dead and 33 injured in the capital.
This was reported by Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko and the State Emergency Service.
Hits, destruction, and fires are recorded in three districts of the city.
- Svyatoshynsky district: there is a hit on the territory of one of the industrial facilities, warehouses at two addresses were burning.
- Solomyansky district: in a 9-story residential building, the 8th and 9th floors were destroyed, a fire broke out. Windows in residential buildings at other addresses were broken. Two medical facilities, cars, garages, and a store were damaged. People are also trapped in two buildings and a school shelter.
- Darnytsky district: there is a hit on the territory of a non-residential facility. A fire broke out in the warehouse, cars caught fire.
In addition, part of the Svyatoshynsky and Solomyansky districts was left without electricity at night.
The Brovary district of the Kyiv region was also under attack. A man was killed and another was injured in the attack. An industrial facility was damaged.
