Putin increased the number of Russian armed forces by 137 000 soldiers

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree increasing the number of military personnel by 137 000 to 1.15 million.

Therefore, together with the new number of soldiers, the full-time staff of the Russian Federation will be 2 039 758 people (889 000 are full-time personnel). Putin instructed the government to allocate funds for this. The decree enters into force on January 1, 2023.
