Russia was excluded from the Executive Council of UNESCO. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced this on November 15.

The Executive Council includes 58 representatives of UNESCO member states. Council meetings are held twice a year. It considers and submits to the General Conference drafts of two-year programs and medium-term strategic areas of activity and prepares the agenda of the General Conference.
