Russia launched 168 drones and missiles of various types — Onyx, Zircon, Iskander, Kalibr — over Ukraine. Air defense shot down 186 targets

On the night of August 20, Russian troops massively shelled Ukraine with drones and missiles of various types. Air defense managed to neutralize 186 air targets.
This is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russians launched Onyx, Zircon, Iskander-M missiles at Ukraine, as well as:
- 36 Kh-101/Iskander-K/Kh-59 cruise missiles;
- eight Kalibers;
- two Banderol loitering munitions;
- 168 Shahed-type strike UAVs (almost half of them jet-powered), Gerbera, and Parody-type simulator drones.
Air defense neutralized 31 Kh-101/Iskander-K/Kh-59 cruise missiles, all eight Kalibr cruise missiles, two Banderoli, and 145 Russian drones.
The main focus of the Russian attack this night was Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Hits were recorded in 28 places. Debris fell in two locations.
UPD at 11:15: In particular, in the capital, 13 deaths and at least 34 injuries are currently known. Seven people died in Solomyansky district alone. In the Kyiv region, one person died and 8 were injured.
In addition, the Russians massively shelled the south of the Odesa region, targeting civilian infrastructure. In particular, the enemy attacked a checkpoint on the border with Moldova with drones.
13 000 residents were left without electricity. Two trailers with food also caught fire. No one was injured.
In Kharkiv, the Russians used a drone to strike a gas station in the cityʼs Industrial District. The consequences of the attack are being clarified. And in Chernihiv region, gas infrastructure was under attack.
Meanwhile, in Zhytomyr, as a result of yesterdayʼs Russian attack, the number of dead has increased to three, and the number of injured to 53. On the evening of August 19, the Russians struck the building of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Zhytomyr region. Among the dead are two police officers.
