Suspicion declared against man suspected of murdering a TRC military in Lviv

In Lviv, suspicion was declared against a 25-year-old man suspected of the murder of a 55-year-old TRC military. It occurred on the evening of August 21.

This was reported by the Prosecutor Generalʼs Office.

According to the investigation, during the document check, the man fled to the school grounds on Stepana Bandera Street. There, he pulled out a knife and stabbed the Lychakiv-Zaliznychny District TCR soldier three times: twice in the neck and once in the forearm.

After that, he began to threaten the police with a knife, in response to which they used weapons. The attacker was hospitalized with leg and stomach injuries. The TRC military died.

The department adds that this TRC military was mobilized at the end of June 2026 and was declared unfit for service due to his health condition. At that time he was assigned to work at the TRC.

A 25-year-old Lviv man was charged with murdering a person performing official duties and threatening to kill a police officer.
