A charity “Embroidery Race” will be held in Kyiv to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraineʼs Independence

On the eve of Ukraineʼs Independence Day, August 23, the 13th annual "Embroidery Race" will be held in the "Urban Park" of the VDNH in Kyiv. The sports and patriotic event will bring together thousands of participants from different regions of Ukraine.

This yearʼs race is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Ukraineʼs Independence and has a charitable purpose. In partnership with the Children of Heroes Foundation, the organizers will raise funds for medical insurance for children who lost one or both parents due to the war.

Part of the registration fees and charitable donations will go to this program. Participants will also be able to make an additional donation and take part in a raffle for gifts from the eventʼs partners.

For adult participants, there are distances of 5, 10 and 21.1 km, as well as a 5 km Nordic walking race. Children will be able to join the 100 and 500 meter races. 300 participants have already registered for the childrenʼs races, including children cared for by the Children of Heroes Charity Foundation. Participants with the best time in each adult distance will receive gifts from partners. In total, the organizers have provided 24 prize places.

The participation fee for an adult is UAH 2 000.

The starting package includes a running backpack, a running T-shirt with an embroidered vyshyvanka print, a starting number, a timing chip, and a finisherʼs medal. For corporate teams of 10 or more participants, a 10% discount applies.

The organizers of the event are the NGO "Marathon Club "Taras Bulba" and the Creative States business space network. The general sponsors are international companies: the online store Answear.ua and the mobile express delivery service Glovo.

Event program

• 07:00 — opening of the starting site;
• 08:00 — childrenʼs warm-up;
• 08:15 — start of childrenʼs races;
• 08:55 — general warm-up;
• 09:00 — nationwide minute of silence;
• 09:05 — start of adult starts;
• 11:40 — awarding of winners;
• 12:00 — raffle of gifts for donations.

Online registration via the link and on the day of the event. After its completion, if there are seats available, you will be able to join in the Free Run format — without a chip and starting package.
